What does it cost to join and fly at TBSS?

Full Membership: Lifetime Membership Fee $400.00. Annual Fee $120. Monthly dues of $30.00, billed monthly or if you pay a year in advance you get a one month reduced rate and pay $330.00. Members may go inactive for any period once per calendar year by notifying the treasurer. Dues are not charged during inactive periods.  No fee for reactivation.

Family Membership: (additional members in same household of an existing Full Membership) Lifetime Member Fee $200.00. Annual Fee $60. Monthly dues $15.00 billed monthly, or if you pay a year in advance you get a one month reduced rate and pay $165.00. Dues are not charged during inactive periods.  No fee for reactivation. (additional  flying members in same household of an existing Full Membership, non flying family members are are never charged dues and are always welcome)

Student Membership: (full time student under the age of 25): Lifetime Member Fee $200.00. Annual Fee $60. Monthly dues $15.00 billed monthly, or if you pay a year in advance you get a one month reduced rate and pay $165.00.

30 Day Membership Fee: for the Fee of $150 paid in advance pilots may join the TBSS for a period of 30 days starting on the day the membership is paid.  A flight/field check-out is mandatory before flying.

All TBSS memberships are required to have an SSA membership at a yearly cost of $64.00.

Monthly Dues are billed on the first of each month and are payable by the 15th paid to the Treasurer or Line Chief by cash, check or charge.

Membership Application Form

$1.00 per 100' ft. plus a $10.00 surcharge.
Example ( A flight to 3000' ft. AGL at a dollar per hundred feet is $30.00 plus the $10.00 surcharge for a total of $40.00
No surcharge for tows before 12:00 and after 5:00.
No surcharge for tows in S 1-26 at anytime.

Tow fees can be paid to the Line Chief or placed in the blue box on the day each flight.

Off Field Retrieval:

$75.00 per hour for a recovery via aero tow.  Time starts when the tow plane takes off from Zephyrhills and stops when tow plane returns to Zephyrhills.

Instruction Fee:

$20 per hour (one-half hour increments: Paid to CFI-G)

Sailplane Rental Fees:

There are no rental fees for gliders.

Landout Fees

Pilots who land out at TBSS and require an aerotow can be towed out for a courtesy fee of $50 to 3000 feet. Pilots must be members of SSA. The courtesy fee includes a one day membership in TBSS.

Introductory Flights and Gift Certificates:

Intro flights are $100.00 (if rider joins club within six months, $50.00 of the intro ride will be credited toward initiation fee). If you have a group of 5 or more, the intro rides are reduced to $85.00 dollars each.
